Kudos to Mr. Sorvino for his work. I've rescued 2 dogs myself and I couldnt keep them. One was a golden, I called GRRA, they were able to meet me halfway to take the rescued pup. The other dog, I decided to take it to the vet to see if the dog was microchip- good enough we were able to find the owner. Whew. It is not easy, I can imagine what all the humane society is going thru. I really want to give my time to help the officers or SPCA of atlanta to capture the criminals.. These people wont have no clue that I am part of the crowd. Is there a way that I could "help" out??? Please let me know......

Great website. People need to start being responsible and realize that a owning a dog is about the same responsibility level of having a child. If you aren't prepared and willing to sacrifice, you shouldn't own one. I have always enjoyed Paul Sorvino's work, but am now more so in awe of the man. Please keep up the amazing work.

My husband and I have 3 dogs, ALL are rescues, Fiona, BlackJack and Squeekers. They walk, they run, they play, but mostly we love them & they love us. In return, at tax time, we use our return to pay for insurance, sure we have to pay for the care first, but we get reimbursed. Yeah, we sometimes eat ramen noodles a day or two before pay day, BUT all out babies ALWAYS have food! Irresponsibility kills... LITERALLY!! THANK YOU for educating people about the REAL costs of a doggie.

dogs are the same as humans treat them the way you would want to be treated.

i think that if your not gonna take care a that dog that you bought with your own money then YOU DO NOT DESERVE IT!!!!! Don't get a dog if you do not know how to take care of it. They are loving animals and do not deserve to be abused like some people abuse them. Please, do not go home and abuse and neglec a dog just because they don't listen. Train them. Be kind to ALL animals for they are just like you.

I absolutely agree. I work at an animal hospital and it is so sad to see a dog or cat that is being brought in by a good samaritin, that is malnourished, covered in fleas, or has a chain or collar around their neck that is too small and inbedded into their skin, because the owner doesn't care to take care of the pet and also doesn't have them spayed or neutered. I am a foster parent of homeless pets til I am able to get them healthy, trained and taken care of by the veterinarian, then find them a proper and loving home. Thank You for making this site.

I am with KAt and kids! Texas needs something like this! I have printed your posters and plan on putting them up here in Abilene, Texas! I drive around on the NOrth side of town and see a lot of this neglect. Keep up the good way

Oh My! I wish that this campaign would spread to Texas! I'm involved with a rescue and it's heartbreaking to see what goes on. My eldest was a "street urchin"; my other two came through rescue. My youngest was dumped at a shelter with distemper and still has alot of issues, but with alot of love attention we're all good! I woudln't trade them for any registered pure breed for ANYTHING!!!!

I've thought for quite awhile it's time to start talking to people in a more realistic manner about this subject. I'd like to put these posters all over Alachua County. Good job!!

This is one of the best campaigns I've seen and I wish we had one in Northeast North Carolina where I live! I would take it even further and show puppies in the "death cages" awaiting euthanasia with something like "Fluffy doesn't go to a farm, he buys it" and talk about people just getting bored or tired of a dog and dumping it. There also needs to be one that hard hits on spay/neuter. This campaign is brilliant and I am printing out the posters to place around my area.

Superb public awareness campaign. Somebody finally said it! Thank you thank you thank you. (Now if we could only convince the average home-breeder to be much more stringent about screening prospective buyers...) - Susan in Alachua, FL

Excellent work! I wish there was something even remotely close to this program in Northern Lower MI. Thank you, all for the love and support you show these beautiful animals. Someday, Animal Cruelty WILL be a thing of the past.

God Bless you Mr. Sorvino (Paulie) for speaking on behalf of this worthwhile cause. I will post this on our 'Web Community for Pet Lovers' www.petsmo.com to help spread the word. If we were more like our Pets, and tried to get along with everyone we meet, then the world would indeed be a much better place. Keep up the good work guys. Best Robbie

I also just adopted two cats from Southern Hope's Roswell shelter and I agree, the place is gorgeous and was also kept incredibly clean. The employees were also very nice and the animals seemed very happy. I got to spend lots of time in the bonding room with different cats until I decided on the two i wanted. It was different from every other shelter I hve ever been in. Thanks for everything you do and for this amazing website. I have printed out your posters and am hanging them up in low income areas near where I work. Thanks again Southern Hope!

I want to thank Southern Hope for this amazing website and for the puppy that I just adopted from your Roswell shelter. The shelter is just gorgeous and everyone there was so nice that it made the adoption process a wonderful experience. The puppy that I adopted came from a puppymill bust and I want to also thank you guys for helping out on so many puppymill busts. Keep up the great work!

I love how you all at Southern Hope make things comfortable for these little guys and I am so Happy that we got our little love muffin from you guys as well.. This site is very informative in every way.. People need to love dogs to have dogs and treat them like a family member not a pet...

I love the great information that you're providing to potential pet owners BEFORE they get a dog. Education is definitely important. My boyfriend rescued a dog from the woods of West Virginia (one that was left behind) and he's turned out to be great dog!!! He's sitting right here on the couch with m, head in lap! He's a very lucky dog and we are very lucky people to have found him. Keep up the good work! I look forward to seeing how far this campaign or something like it spreads about the U.S.

Mr. Sorvino, you are a gem! A few years back your book on asthma and your wonderful staff helped me tremendously and now you're helping the animals -- I couldn't be happier! I am an avid animal lover and all of my pets have come in right off the streets of New York City. I applaud your work and dedication and hope that your well-known face will give hope to millions of suffering animals everywhere. God Bless. If you ever open an office in NYC, please count me in as a volunteer for your organization!

IT MAKES ME SICK!!!! when I see the way people treat these animals. I own a rescue dog that came from fulton county, he is my best friend and guardian... he quickly took to me, but unfortunatly, due to his past he is afraid of many things. I am pleased to say that he is rehabilitating very well. His name is Bear and I think that he is an aussie/lab mix. I'm so sorry for what he had to go through, due to the stupidity of an ignorant human being. I love him so much, he deserves to have a loving and caring home. ALL animals deserve to. Thank-you sooo much to the fulton county animal protectors for making it possible for me to have the best friend that I have today...Your work is greatly appreciated, not only by me, but by the animals you help save!

I concur with everything said on this website. I want to elaborate just a tad: Don't Get A Dog if you just want a puppy. They grow up! Don't Get A Dog for someone else. If you want to get them a gift, let them pick out the animal since it will be their responsibility. It's sad to see "Holiday Puppies" come back at the first of the year. Don't Get A Dog if you're not going to microchip it. Tags and collars come off, but microchips are safe bets. The "my dog/cat never goes outside" response is ridiculous because that's even more reason to do it since they will be totally disoriented when outside alone on their first night. Don't Get A Dog if you can't train it to be food motivated. Hitting an animal to train should *NOT* be the first option. It only teaches the animal to be timid/aggressive. Positive reinforcement is always the humane way to go. Great website and hopefully people will learn something!
